For example The Community Sports Foundation may be approached by a local council who identifies a need to address high levels of anti social behaviour which occurs during the hours of 7-10 on a Friday night. In this instance a representative from the Foundation will meet the council to discuss this problem and how we can work together in partnership to solve the issues. After consultation our representative will create a programme using sport that is designed to help tackle the problem.
It is important to remember that the Foundation operates this form of grant making scheme for the following reasons;
-
It allows the Foundation to project manage each programme
-
It ensures that only our professional, skilled and certified staff are involved and responsible at all times
-
It provides one area of accountability and transparency
-
It allows the Foundation to directly monitor and run initiatives
-
It removes the burden from individuals, volunteers and local Government
-
It allows us to spread our funds around more communities
-
It provides economies of scale
-
It ensures best practice is always followed
-
It guarantees the ability to learn quickly from successes and mistakes ensuring they are not repeated
-
The foundation, not the applicant, is accountable for any short falls in funding once the project starts.
If you have an issue which you believe could be addressed by the use of sports provision in your area, and you would like to discuss the role the Foundation could offer, then please email applications@tcsf.org.uk.
